(1) If a working journalist is injured in the course of the work of a media establishment and his performance is affected due to the injury, the media establishment shall make available to such a working journalist an amount equal to one month's salary or ten thousand rupees, whichever is more, as compensation.
(2) If the personal property of a working journalist is destroyed in the course of the work of the communication establishment, the related communication establishment shall provide such working journalist with an amount equal to the property destroyed in such manner as compensation.
(3) In accordance with this rule, there will be a committee consisting of the following members in each district to recommend the amount of compensation to be received by working journalists before the relevant media establishment:-
(a) Chief District Officer – Chairman (b) Chairman, Nepal Journalist Federation, District Branch – Member
(c) Chief, District Police Office – Member
(d) Head, concerned communication establishment – ​​Member
(e) Head, District Post Office – Member Secretary
(4) The secretariat of the committee formed as per sub-rule (3) will be in the respective district post office.
